Water is essential to the basic needs of life. Insufficient sources of clean water and a lack of accessibility to it create several problems that are often detrimental to one’s health. Understanding the root cause of the problem together with the impacts of water stresses on health is key to moving in the direction of providing palpable solutions. The learner will be introduced to water as a critical need, causes and misuse of water, the remediation of polluted water, and how it affects human health as well as the overall outcomes of pursuing research in water and health. Course Objectives 1. To increase interest surrounding general water crisis issues, its importance and impacts on health. 2. To develop notions and movements contributary to the cause of solving health problems due to water issues. 3.
